Today is the first warm day in a long time. He broke his runner and got into the road. He would have been 7months old next week. I don't think it has really hit me yet. He always slept at my feet under my desk. I keep reaching out my foot to rub him on the belly and he's not there.

Thank you all for your kind words. Virginia is very upset. She saw it happen. She had just noticed he was loose and was outside trying to get him to come to her. He was at the very end of the driveway and they didn't even try to miss him- didn't slow down at all. The cable was supposed to hold an 180lb dog- and it broke right at the clip. Luckily, he died instantly. He was struck in the head- his feet never left the driveway.
