Question:
I have no idea how she did it- Natalie cut the top of her foot pretty bad this morning. I was mopping, so she went out on the back deck- there's a gate that keeps her on, the deck is completely bare except a water bucket incase she gets thirsty and a rug she lays on (it's not a very big deck) and later, when she came in, I saw blood spots on my clean floor. She acted fine- was bleeding moderately, but acting like nothing was wrong. I cannot explain how she cut it- I searched all over for a loose nail or anything sharp sticking out- nothing that I could find.
Anyway, she just sort of fileted a piece of skin back on the top to one side. The vet said hte skin was too thin to bother stitching that it wouldn't hold- and it would have been impossible to shave it- the way it is in between tnedons- in order to glue it, so it just got cleaned nad dressed. We are to change the dressing twice a day- clean and put a clean bandage- and take her back Monday to have it rechecked.
I shall be crawling around on the deck later trying to find anything sharp. Please do not drive by my house while I am on all fours.
