Anyone familiar with this muzzle?
Question: Hi all. I have been looking at different muzzles incase the need arises for Dante. Has anyone ever used one like this? http://cgi.ebay.ca/DOG-GROOMING-TRAINING-No-Bark-No-Bite-Comfort-Muzzle_W0QQitemZ7704571636QQcategoryZ66784QQrdZ1QQ cmdZViewItem There doesn't seem to be any 'guidelines' on type of muzzle, just this: Muzzles should be humane, but strong enough and well-fitted enough to prevent the pit bull from biting, without interfering with the breathing, panting, or vision of the pit bull or with the pit bull's ability to drink. Would the above muzzle alow Dante to drink? I really like that is it not 'obvious', it'd blend into his halti nicely. And since he's not exactly a biter...Anyways, what do you guys think? Answer: i really do not know, i have never need a muzzle (although my family and friends prolly disagree-haha), but it looks nice and comfy. Answer: That's a temporary muzzle, to be used while restraining the dog to groom or vaccinate him. It's not meant as a walking muzzle -- the dog is not able to properly pant while wearing it. While it certainly does look nicer than the cage muzzles, only the cage muzzles are humane to put on a dog when you take him out for walks. Answer: O sucky! But thanks for the honesty. I just hate the idea of my baby wearing a cage Answer: I still don't think your baby needs to wear a muzzle.. Dante is not a pitbull.. I wouldn't do it until you are forced to.. if it was my dog, I'd refuse. Answer: Lixx..don't bother with the muzzle until late October...you've still got a while to shop around, however....greencolander is right..the cage muzzles are the safest and most humane... I know what you're going through right now. This is totally going to suck for us pittie owners. Whereabouts in Mississauga are you? I live in Etobicoke right on the border of Mississauga... Answer: I'm on the Oakville side, Credit woodlands area Dante isn't a 'pitbull', but a mixed breed that alot of 'uneducated' people seem to think is one. I would love to just not muzzle him as to any knowledgeable person he doesn't looke like one, but I have heard there are several animal control officers around here who think they are 'terminators'. Granted it's a rummor, but I can't really afford a fine or worse, to have Dante seized. I wonder if they would really just give a warning first? Regardless, it's totally wrong and no dog, pitbull or otherwise should have to be 'caged'. Answer: Lixx...I agree.... although I'm not familiar with how stict the idiot AC patrol is in Oakville, I do know that its a smaller city than Toronto..meaning I would be a little more careful....and wouldn't count on warnings....I know when OCT comes around I'll be muzzling her...in public anyways....maybe driving out to some deserted park or forest or something..I dunno....either way, its definately going to be hard to cope with. Answer: It sucks that this is happening . Lixx- good luck finding a good muzzle.. For future reference: Taken from Ministry of Attorney General's website: ". Is my dog a pit bull? Under the amendments to DOLA, pit bull is defined as:
Answer: Yeah, I saw that. Which is why I am worried. Enough idiots have said "O what a nice pit mix' to Dante to concern me. But then a lab looks like a pit bull by that description! Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
