Been Bothering Me...
Question: Last summer I was at the beach with a friend, enjoying the sunshine. A group of people came onto the beach with food. One of the guys had a dog. And the dog was excited to be there, playing with the kids. And, oh boy! Food! There was a little kid, about 6 or 7 who had a slice of pizza and the dog tried to get at it, and the boy said no, the adults laughed and shooed the dog away. But as soon as they weren't looking the dog made a grab for the pizza. Now, the boy jerked, the dog missed the pizza. Instead he got a little hand. And he let go as soon as it was in his mouth. The kid started screaming blue murder. But he wasn't hurt, not even scared, but upset that the dog tried to take his pizza (which he dropped jerking away). Well his mother starts screaming obsenities and KICKS this dog so hard he gets moved several feet away from the group, and she threatens to kill it. The owner takes the dog and holds his collar while the woman and her kids leave. I gotta say...I think that the kicking of that dog was uncalled for. The boy was fine as soon as a new slice of pizza was in his hands. They laughed at the dogs attempts to steal the slice from the boy, as far as I'm concerned they were just as much to blame. The dog should have been leashed, and maybe someone should have obidence trained him yes...but he is afterall a dog. And it just...bothers me to see the woman kick that dog and threaten (quite seriously I might add) to kill it. I wanted to say something but, I was outnumbered by angry people and the woman could have knocked me halfway to the moon with her pinky finger. If I had any idea who she was I'd have reported her to the SPCA... Answer: OMG, that is just sickening. I too would have been angry. Kicking an animal is uncalled for, really cruel. Answer: awww,,thats horrible!!!! I agree the dog should have been leashed and the lady should relax abit!!! Answer: It's a hard call. As a mom, watching an unknown dog bite your child for any reason I am sure is quite upsetting. However the real blame is with the dogs owner, yet again. Answer: The dog was not holding ONTO the child was it? She kicked just out of anger? That is no way to behave- especially setting that example to your children. On the other hand- it is obvious the dog had not been trained and was not properly disciplined and should not have been in public. Answer: The mother knew the dog and the owner, they all showed up together. The kids were playing on the beach, and the dog was in the water when the food showed up. I think the dog should have been leashed but...the dog made a grab missed and let go as soon as he realized it was fingers not food. Split seconds. And I mean she kicked that dog pretty hard. It made a sound that just...hurts my heart. Answer: I don't know how you stopped yourself from kicking the woman, although I fully understand why you didn't. People can be so sickening sometimes. I agree, the dog should have been leashed, and the woman had NO right to do that to the animal. Answer: And I mean she kicked that dog pretty hard. It made a sound that just...hurts my heart. Thats just awful. Some people just make me sick. I think I would have told her off and called the police! But thats because I would have been feeling brave with my 6 ft 3" husband next to me! I understand that you didn't want to say anything because you were alone. Answer: Well I have my reasons for not standing up to her other than the fact she was 3 times my size and I was with 1 person and she was with 12. But let's just say that you don't mess with these people cause around here they'll knock your teeth out for lookin' at them. Answer: HAHAHA very true!!!!
