Update since we got Logan
Question: Logan has been with us a week already and it has been a wonderful and different experience for both Dave and I. I spent a good amount of money on chew toys for him but found out he favours my bras and underwear. Logan LOVES to help me sort laundry and he happened to find a pair of my underwear and promptly took the underwear out of the laundry basket and took off with them. He found one of my bras on the bedroom floor and took off with it and wanted me to play tug-of-war with it. He also likes towels and socks . His appetite is good and he loves the Nature's Variety. Yesterday, I gave him a whole, organic egg mixed in with his food and he enjoyed it. This weekend I plan on buying the raw food so he can get that at night. The crate training has improved. During the day he is crate trained and once we leave the house, he settles down. He cries and howls when he knows we are still in the house. At night he is sleeping with us (Teresa, Scott will be disappointed). I couldn't phatom leaving him in a crate during the day and also at night. I was struggling with the concept of having a dog sleep in the bed because of dominance issues so I sought the advice of a well-known Pit Bull ambassador who has written a few books on Pit Bulls and has been on the Oprah show. I basically think she is a Goddess when it comes to Pit Bulls. She told me she has always let her puppies sleep with her from day one and says puppies need comfort and security. To put it bluntly she said, "Let the puppy in bed with you"! So, Dave and I came to a decision that he sleeps with us at night. I have to say, it is nice to have that little body next to me when Dave is at work. The potty training is coming along slowly but surely. Dave and I are diligent with taking him out and he has no problem going potty outside but still has pee pee accidents in the house. I can tell when he is about to go, and immediately stop him and take him outside. Nature's Miracle is awesome that is all I can say! Dave and I have been doing mini training sessions with him at night. He has the sit command down to a science. I would like to teach him the "down" command soon. His puppy classes start in November He isn't phased by the chinchillas. In fact, he is scared of them. Delilah is not too pleased when Logan is in their room and always sends out an alarm call. Logan usually hides under the futon when I am in the chinnie room. Everyone that sees Logan says such great things about him . He loves to meet people and whenever a dog passes by our yard he immediately wants to play. He hates wearing a collar. We put a leash on him this past weekend and he wouldn't move. He has to get used to the concept of a collar and leash. Logan has a physical exam scheduled for this Saturday. I think that's about it. All in all, he is progressing nicely and loves his new home. Answer: I am so glad that things are going well for you guys! What a smart puppy you have. Hopefully you will be able to post some pics soon! Answer: Yeah for you, Dave, and Logan, I too struggled with keeping Pippin in the crate at night and all day long, lol, that is why he sleeps with us most nights, sometimes I HAVE to put him in the crate ( he hogs the bed) I am so glad things are progressing smoothly with Logan, he is completely adorable and so affectionate, lol, I think scott was looking out for Dave and the amount of space he will have in bed ( men gotta stick together ) I am looking forward to seeing how much he has changed when we come down in October Answer: Denise, what a wonderful update! Logan sounds very happy and quite content I laughed so hard when I read that Deliah sounds out the alarm call and how Logan is scared of the chinnies Leave it to chins to let the "new guy" know who is boss Glad all is going well! Answer: awww,,,he sounds so sweet,,and theres nothing better than having a dog in bed with you I have Craig, me, Dakin, Kody and Sasha all in my bed, Tysin sleeps beside my in his bed, Corbin falls asleep in our bed but then Craig carries him to his bed, and Moe usually sleeps with him and the potty training may take a while, Sasha was about 8 mths before I completly trsuted her with no more accidents, she wasnt crated at all tho, but I was home 24/7 so that helps Logsn sounds like quite the character Answer: I'm glad everything is going good! Answer: I'm so glad everything is working out so well. He sounds super spoiled already. Answer: Denise, it sounds like everything is going great, your doing a wonderful job with him! Answer: Uhu, that's all very good but where are the pics? Answer: Didn't you see Teresa's thread? There are plenty of him (for now) on there! Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
