I got into a major disagreement with the arsehole from next door (Oscar's dad). Dave was mad at me because I fed into it so I thought I could vent my frustration here. On Friday, Roy (the arsehole) saw Logan and asked me if I was going to get his ears cropped and tail docked. I emphatically told him "NO"! He couldn't figure out why I didn't want to do either and he proceeds to tell me, "He is going to look retarded when he gets older. Have you seen Pit Bulls that don't have their ears cropped and their tails docked"? I said, "Roy, the standard for Pit Bulls is NOT to have their tails docked and ears can be cropped or uncropped". I then told him that in England ear cropping and tail docking is outlawed and he didn't believe me. I told him to get his facts straight and look up the information and it will clearly state both have been outlawed. He then tells me he has a relative that brings in Pit Bulls from England and their ears are cropped. Uh uh, suuuure. After he pissed me off about that, he tells me, "If you don't want him, we will take him". I said, "What makes you think I don't want him"? He said, "Well, you liked the other dog you had and you didn't keep him so I figure you won't want this dog either. Seriously, we will take him if you don't want him". I said, "Roy, first of all, that dog had a behavioural problem that I wasn't willing to cope with and he wasn't even my dog. Second of all, what would make you think I would give Logan to you? So you could keep him in the backyard all day without having any interaction with him?" I said, "Pit Bulls need a purpose in life, not a life in a backyard. We are taking him to puppy kindergarden in November and I would like to have him engage in agility courses and therapy work" . He got really angry and said, "Oh please, I have heard enough. Good luck Einstein".
The next day he was driving by our yard and asks, "So, are you still mad at me"? I said, "No, I realize you are a jerk and you can't be helped". He then tells me, "You know it is okay to have disagreements". I didn't say a freaking thing.
And to think there are more idiots out there like him that own Pit Bulls. Very scary indeed.

Your neighbors talk to you? Wow. All my neighbors like to pretend their yard is an island and the road is a vast ocean.

I get that crap from my inlaws, though- my sister-in-law arguing with me that we should get the cats declawed cause when they get old and their nails get long, they get them caught in tha carpet, etc. They were actually considering having their 13year old cat declawed. I said they should just cut her nails like I cut my cats- but no- that's not good enough- they'd have to cut them like every week and that's be stressful on her. Like anesthesia at her age and her 22lbs on bandaged mangled feet wouldn't be stressful at all.

Jenna, the reason why the people next door talk to us is because I was walking their APBT/American Bulldog. Except for the ocassional "hello" from people in the neighbourhood, I don't know anyone .

Next time the arsehole starts pestering me about ear cropping/tail docking, I am going to completely ignore it. Trust me it will be difficult but there is no point in arguing with an idiot.
