Uh oh, JRTs!
Question: Since Ally and Keesha have been feeling better and getting stronger after their ordeal of being left at the shelter, adopted out seperately then brought back when they got sick and finally adopted together to my friend, I am starting to see their JRT personalities coming to life. They are pulling like drafthorses on their leashes, a lot more demanding and playful and needy. Right now, Ally is whining like she is getting whipped and throwing a tantrum but all she wants is attention, I've been playing with them for the past hour and it's still not enough, it sounds like she's making herself hoarse! I don't want to encourage this kind of behaviour by rewarding her with attention everytime she starts whining and barking but it's really hard to stop myself from going over to play with them! JRTs, gotta love 'em, lol! Answer: Seems like they really are enjoying their new life as spoiled pooches. Answer: Just shows that she enjoys your company Answer: That's great news. Just you wait when there 100% back to being a full JRT. Double trouble. LOL Rocky and Jack need constant attention and play time. We go outside and wressle. They have quite the personalities and are very persistant. I love them to peace's. There a lot of work but defenitly worth it. Answer: It sounds like they do 100% better with you than your friend CJ. I hope she ends up giving them to you (If you want them that is). Answer: Sophie, my friend was asking me if I wanted to babysit them forever by September when school starts, she is going to be super-busy next semester, hopefully I'm more settled down and have a good job by then, I'd love to have them full-time, lol! Josh rough-houses with them, he likes them a lot and they love playing with him They used to ignore squirrels and birds, but now they are going after them like CRAZY, I swear it's like I'm walking two Huskies with the amount of pulling force they have I'm thinking of strapping them to a sled and have them pull until they are content! I wish my landlord had a fenced yard that they could play in but his yard is open to the road and I'm not about to let them off-leash. They also used to come right into the apartment after their walks, now they are getting stubborn about it. They are a lot of work, but definately worth it Answer: With your friend being so busy and not being all that great at feeding/training them, it makes me wonder why she even decided to get dogs in the first place It's really great to hear they get a good companion and some quality play time with you and Josh though! Answer: I was wondering the same thing,,,,,it doesn't make sense to me,,,and you had mentioned to me before that she hates it when they use the bathroom in her house,,but its to be expected,,,,,,, I'm glad they have you Diana,,,,, Answer: Josh helped me watch them in the backyard yesterday evening and the both of them are pretty good with coming back when called, I took one of my stuffed toys that look like a ball to toss around with them but they didn't seem to understand what to do with it. Actually, it's more of a sideyard next to the house with just bushes in the front where the road is so I'm quite apprehensive about them spotting something and running off onto the road. We tried to take them into the yard this morning but they ran off, there's just too many things going on during the day that catch their attention, lol! They came back after a block though, and they have their rabies tags and a lost and found tag with a number to call on them just in case. My friend might be coming to pick them up tonite, I have class at 9am tomorrow, but if I wake up at 6:30am to take them out for their walk they should be ok until I get home at 12pm. I'm not too sure whether she's coming or not. She's not a horrible owner, just an unprepared owner, I don't think she knew what she was getting herself into Yesterday, they figured out that the tablecloth weights can be pulled off and chewed on And they LOVE Pupperoni chicken flavour. Answer: Pam, they are like my godkids, lol! Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
