That is good to know. I thought maybe I had an advanced puppy or something. Geesh, males and their hormones. I can tell when he is about to hump my arm because he grasps my arm with his two front paws. As soon as he attempts to hump, I distract him with a chew toy.

Welcome to the humpy puppy club! Hogan- bless him- tries to hump Nattie all the time- but of course he can't reach. He has learned if he brings her a toy and drops it in front of her- when she bends her head to get it- he can hump her on the head. Lovely puppy.

Unfortunately, Hogan won't be fixed as he is a show dog. Deuce, the cat- not only humps things, but actually manages to penetrate- and he is fixed. That one I seriously can't understand- even the vet insisted it wasn't possible- but I know by the yowl of his victim when he has succeeded. That is his way of bullying the other cats, though- which, thankfully, is rare. Steve says Deuce must be taking viagra on the sly.

Dogs hump for three reasons: mating, dominance, and in play. Both my dogs (Moxie is a female and Tobique is a male) are fixed, and they both hump. Moxie, the dear, *LOVES* to hump other dogs, be they male, female, big or small. She also humps my cat, Enki. I reckon it keeps her abs so firm!
