Teddy
Question: Teddy is my grandparents very spoiled and much loved black cockerspaniel. He's named teddy because he looks like a bear. I'd show you a picture but he doesn't take them well since he's just a black mass. Cute dog, very friendly and snuggly. BUT...he is getting worse when people come in the house. When I stopped by the other night he screeched and barked and cried. I thought he was going to pee. Then my grandfather and Bruce (grand mothers brother) came home while I was talking to my grandmother on the phone and Teddy started to screech again. This time like he was being beaten or skinned alive. Poor boy. I often wonder what causes him to be like that since he was never abused by my grand parents and gets only the best treatment. Answer: That does sound very strange. How old is Teddy? Have they had him from a pup? Answer: Yep. He was like that as a puppy too. He used to pee on my grandmother when he was afraid. When we watched the fire works, he peed all over the place again. And...this I find hilarious...the Superstore has this annoying guy in their commercials and he ALWAYS barks at him. Plus he barks at bells and bell like sounds...like in McCains when the star dots the I. Answer: He's sounds like he's very submissive.. when people walk into the house they should ignore him completely. Only give him attention when he's calm. As a side note, people should NEVER take their dogs to firework displays. I work in an animal shelter and we are always super busy the day after a Holiday weekend that includes fireworks.. Dogs cannot tolerate the noise and flee out of fright. Why can't people just leave their dogs safely at home? I ask myself this every time. Answer: If they left Teddy at home, he would cry the whole time as he does everytime. He has to be in the boat, away from the noise instead of on the deck with us. We can't ignore him cause he won't stop screeching until you pet him or hold your hand out. But he does it to people he knows. If my grandfather comes in and his hat is low or he's carrying something Teddy just goes crazy. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
