Child "scalped" by dog
Question: http://www.thelouisvillechannel.com/...96/detail.html An unsupervised child plays in her backyard, while an aggressive pitbull is chained up only seven feet away. The dog snaps, and manages to pull its stake from the ground to attack the child. I hope she's going to be ok! Answer: omg-speechless Answer: That's so sad. I have to wonder, why was a 4 year old outside, alone, with a dog in the yard? Tied or not, pet or not, no dog should be trusted around a young child.. I wonder if the dog showed prior aggression towards the kids, if it was maybe abused? Normally dogs just don't attack for no reason--including pits. I wonder if unknowingly, the child or her friend were teasing the dog, and just got it to the point where it got really ticked off? Where were the parents? I hope the girl turns out to be ok, either way. Answer: "These dogs are unpredictable," Shoffer said. "The least little thing ... the dog could be happy one minute, and the next minute they go absolutely crazy. Anybody that has young children (needs) to make sure the dog is chained or properly fenced in." Complete idiots I tell you! These dogs are unpredictable? Never mind the parents were no where in sight when this happened! Always blame it on the dog. Answer: I think the problem a lot of people have with pit bulls (which is what makes it so easy to point and blame the sweet things) is that these dogs generally are 'fighters', it's in their blood. People use pit bulls as fighting dogs all the time, which is a very sad and tragic fact. They have a reputation for being perfect for this 'sport'. It's disgusting, but it also brings light to the fact that while some dogs have herding in their blood, and others have running or pulling in theirs, the pit bull is well known for having 'fight' in it's blood, whether it be fact or myth, it should be a warning sign to people that an animal does have this reputation. :\ i think the parents are the responsible ones for not supervising their child!! This isn't the dog's fault, if they hadn't left a CHILD unsupervised with the dog this would never have happened Answer: The sad thing is, These dogs should never attack people.. As when fighting was first started, they were trained to attack other Dogs, but to never harm a person, as a ref would be in the pit with the dogs, and the dog would be killed if it would go after the person...therefore, you can't have dogs attacking people, or you'd lose your best ''fighters''. I've also read where these dogs would be kept inside, with the family pets and kids. It's todays fighters, the drug dealers ect who pretty much ruined those dogs, and instead of just fighting in the ring, we're seeing more and more dangerous animals.... Thats why it's important to go to a breeder who breeds for temperment, too. Answer: Megan is 100% correct. Whether you call them Pit Bulls, American Pit Bull Terriers, or American Staffordshire Terriers, these dogs were bred for bait fighting. Never disloyal to their family and always willing to go that extra mile for their owner these dogs were not bred to be agressive towards humans. Inbreeding and improper use of this beautiful and loyal breed of dog has resulted in such vicious acts against humans. Answer: Perhaps this link can shed more light on the true nature of this breed of dog: http://www.nyx.net/~mbur/apbtfaqtoc.html Answer: I hope the little girl in this report is o.k! That is such a horrible story! I love pitbulls and someday hope to own one, but they are always getting such bad reputations! Answer: The reason for the bad rep is because of ignorant human beings.
