one dog gets along with cat better than the other ?

Question:
Hi , I have two dogs , one a very small english staffordshire bull terrier and a nz hunterway x. My question is , why dose the stafford get along so much better with my cat then my other dog.
The cat seems to hate the bigger dog, and has on occasion chased her.
Where on the other hand , the cat is quite happy to sleep next to the smaller dog on the couch. My bigger dog can not even walk near the cat, but the small one can pinch the cats food. I used to have another stafford a few yrs back ( deceased) and the cat grew up with her and would even play with her. I wonder what they a secretly saying to each other in those looks I see them giving each other ?

Answer:
Does your bigger dog tend to see your cat as prey? A golden retriever mix in my apartment building treated two small Jack Russell mixes that I had as prey and they HATED each other from that moment on.
Animals have as much personality as people do and maybe they just don't get along just like two people who just dislike each other.

Answer:
my cat is now 7 , and is the boss, so it seems. None of my dogs has ever tried to hurt the cat in any way, apart from when they were pups and were getting to know each other. The cat will sit under the table and swipe at the dogs as they go past. My big dog will yelp and run. Why the cat has more tollerance for the little dog is interesting. I can only assume that they a sending very subtle messages to each other , that I can't see, and one of them is much more polite then the other

Answer:
I would think that since your cat was already used to being with a Staffordshire, that she be comfortable with your new one as well. Maybe your other dog is cat aggressive or doesn't like any other animals that are smaller then he is. That's all I can come up with; hope it helped.
