First Dog Charged Under New Ontario Law
Question: (Pit-Bull-Sentence) The first charge has been laid under Ontario's new law banning pit bulls. A dog belonging to Jeff Hickey of Ottawa attacked a woman last month, breaking one of her hands. He has until tomorrow to decide whether to turn his six-year-old dog, Dozzer, over to the city to be euthanized. Hickey, who has his dog's name tattooed on his stomach, faces up to six months in jail and a 10-thousand dollar fine. He says he is considering fighting the new legislation and would go to jail or leave the province to save Dozzer's life. (6) And for everyone who wonders...that's from Broadcast News, which is part of the Canadian Press. Answer: Hmm....any info. on how this attack occured? I have issues with any dog that is truely aggressive and the stupid people that own them...doesn't matter wht breed they are. If we can't trust the owner the first time knowing what kind of laws Ontario has now, how can he be trusted a second time? I hope if he does decide to euthanize, he doesn't turn the dog over but instead goes to his vet and comfort it during it's last moments. Answer: Again, as I've said before...I don't write these news stories. I read them as they come in. Check on Google maybe. Answer: Can you not post a link to the source? I was certain Candice required that. Anyways, I would like to know the circumstances around this. What was the provocation? Answer: Again, as I've said before, as I work for the media, I get this DIRECT from the news wire. There is no link. I don't know any of the details. Check google. Or try the Gov. of Ontario website.
