Help!!

Question:
Okay I don't know where to post this in the cat or dog section!! I live in a house where it is darn near impossible to hide the cat litter boxes. They are 2 hooded litter boxes. How do I keep the dogs OUT of it?

This is a gross, disgusting habit...that I know many dogs go through...but I am hoping someone has found a solution to keep the dog out. I scoop the litter boxes regularly...but I don't do every poop every time can't follow my cats around!...so those times the kitty bon-bons get stolen.

Any experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch.

S.

Answer:
Can you set up a table and put the litterboxes on that? My mom did this when she had a dog, and although Pepper would stand by the table, staring at the litterboxes, licking her chops, she couldn't get up there.

Answer:
I have a friend who has large dogs.. she installed a cat door in the door of one room that she kept the litter box in... in her case, it was the bathroom.. but you could do it in any room. I have 2 small dogs.. only one has been caught enjoying a 'sneaky snack'.. so I put the litter box on top of a large rubbermaid container (high enough for my dog to not reach) and the opening of the box faces the wall with just enough room for the cats to get access but the dog can't...
Good Luck!

LOL I was about to ask the same question, and boy is it gross But I just found a small table I wasn't using and put it up there, now I just need to get the cats to remember it's there.

Answer:
We have ours on a nice high counter in the basement, but before it was in the spare bedroom ( the counter was too high for molson to jump on)
We are talking about installing a doggy door in our laundry room downstairs and putting it in there,
It is a disgusting habit ( I have brushed Pippin's teeth quite a few times when Scott has left the door open)
Good luck

Answer:
When Dante used to snack we did the cat door in the big door thing. Thankfully now he knows he not allowed and does not snack!
