Grace has died
Question: At 8:45 PM, Grace died. The rest is between Grace and me. Answer: I'm really sorry for your loss. *hugs* Answer: ohhh Lisa. I ws following the thread for her, I know how much she meant to you, but more importantly--SHE knows how much she meant to you. Only the biggest, kindest of hearts would take a responsibilty like Grace in. She was so lucky to have you, even if it was only for a short time. Imagine what kind of final journey she would have had if you weren't there!! I think that part of loving these animals is not only giving them a chance at a new life, but also the chance to die with comfort and dignity. Thank you Lisa for giving her that, for saving Grace. She is now at peace dogspeed little angel Answer: My heart goes out to Grace and the people who wanted to save her, i am so sorry. You tried Answer: I am so sorry, Grace was lucky to be in your hands up to the end. Take care of yourself you did the right thing by taking her in. Answer: I am heartbroken about Grace. GSRT had a foster to give 24/7 care. NOT a boarding kennel. You were also told this foster was strictly for puppies. Some fosters can do males, some can do females and some can do only puppies. That was explained to you. Do not dare say Grace would have taken a dog in need's place. You did not want our help or expertise in the breed and obvious breed issues or vet specialists. You even posted she was not vomiting and we knew that was not reality. I know you were emailed about Grace's issues and probable causes and you ignored it, and how we could help, and you ignored it. I wondered about you after you posted in the topic about my precious foster Hank that you wanted a "bottom of the barrel dog". That disturbed me more than you will ever know. Grace was born in a cage and died in one because you would not let a rescue help. You will have to look at yourself in the mirror. Answer: This person did not save this dog, she condemed her to a slow needless death, when help was available, i am in shock and disgust. Answer: Well, I'm sorry for poor Grace :( . I'm a bit thrown as to what's going on here. This thread came up when I did a search on "Grace", to find out the reasons behind Toonces' remarks: Boy, was I confused! It's about your CAT named Grace, who passed away. Then I found the two previous threads about your GSD named Grace. It is heartwrenching, what she went through. Just horrible. After Toonces' post, I don't know what else to say. I wish I knew more, but it's all over now, so I'll just hope that Grace is enjoying all of the pleasures she never knew in life . Answer: Canine14,what I know of you from earlier posts and sick animals in need, does not ring true with what Toonces writes I've known you as a person who will do anything to save an animal, including beg, steal or borrow...so,I do not understand what is going on here I am really sorry Grace died, but I believe the blame should be put on the horrible beasts who run Puppy-Mills,not a woman trying to save a life. I am totally ignorant to what was ailing Grace...but I feel in my heart, she is now at peace and she died, with someone who cared.. Answer: My local Oakville HS,has an 8-10yrold German Shepard who has been there for 2 years+.... Here she is at...www.oakvillehumane.ca I am sorry, this is definetly under the wrong thread, maybe someone can move it....I don't know how Answer: I refuse to answer to these false and ignorant allegations. Answer: Please, this is sad enough without any accusations flying around.:( Lisa is a very compassionate and knowledgeable person who has saved the lives of many "junked" animals who no one else would touch. I don't know about any pms or information available and don't want to know. I have no idea if this dog could be saved by anyone, I just know that sadly, we cannot save them all. This is also very distressing to me, but it's a fact. The only blame should be placed on the heartless and despicable individuals who bred this dog, and even the SPCA for letting her suffer needlessly for 3 months. At least this little dog died with a home and someone to love her, and so many live and die never knowing that. Answer: Oh and Toonces, not facetiously, I wanted to tell you that you have done a great job with Hank. His before and after photos are amazing. He is lucky to have found you. Lisa. Answer: Who knows whether this could have been prevented or not. However I do suggest the next time you don't get in over your head. This dog could have been OUT of a cage and in someone's home and could have seen a neurologist, been in a foster home and possibly have gotten treatment. There really was no reason not to let things go that way, however difficult the SHORT journey to Toronto, it could have been managed. Afterall she was in a cage in a boarding kennel, she would have been fine sitting in the back seat with someone. It WAS worth giving her a chance to see a specialist here in T.O! If she was that sick, I'm not sure why you wanted her to stay in a cage, in a kennel at a facility for boarding. Sometimes we make poor judgement calls or bad decisions. We learn from our mistakes and hopefully you will be learning from this one. Instead of lashing out at those who are raising issuues surrounding the dog and rescue...perhaps listen to what they are saying and absorb it. I understand with the dogs death you are upset, so take some time to really 'hear' what people are saying. It is not enough to just love an animal and want the best for it, you need to have the people power and financial power to save them. Otherwise, you aren't doing much good, and that is what you are seeking....doing goodness. God Bless the animals who suffer and die! I hope you have a picture of Grace, we all would like to see her sweet face. R.I.P little one, many thought about you and many care. Answer: Actually, thanks once again to your insufferable superiority complexes, I have decided no longer to post to this board. I see now why so many have joined and left. I have a clear conscience when it comes to Grace. Some illnesses just cannot be fixed. Brain damage is just that - damage. In the end, Grace made her own decision and went on her own. Goodbye and best of luck with your rescues. Lisa. Answer: There was a foster available for her in Toronto, you didn't want her to come here...that was your choice. So you are saying you WOULD have let her come here if I was her foster then? Why could she come to 'me' in Toronto and not to a foster that GSRT had picked out? What is so special about me. My dog btw is a rescue, from Montreal and she was very sick when I got her. I spent the money and saw the specialists after she was transported to us and she did get better. Aside from your lack of medical knowledge there ARE treatments for brain damage. This pup could have been given medication to stop any inflammation of the brain incase it was from virus, injury or pressure. It is this type of thinking or lack thereof that prevents you from educating yourself. Answer: I haven't had time to check this board very often so haven't followed Graces story. I do however know that Lisa only ever want what's best for the animals. When I was fostering kittens a while back and had no idea what to do Lisa offered to help me out by driving me places and offering her assistance. She offered to take Momma Cat when I couldn't find a home for her. Whether there could have been something done or not with Grace doesn't change the fact that Lisa would have done whatever she could. Maybe she made a mistake, maybe not, I don't know. But I do know Lisa has a heart of gold and there is nothing sinister about her. I really don't see why there has been such an attack on her. I hope you don't leave this board Lisa and I hope you continue to rescue. Don't let a few people get in the way of helping out animals in need. Neither you nor the animals deserve that. Answer: Okay I must admit my statement about her approach being sinister was uncalled for I will delete that out of my previous post. I do apologize for that. The rest, I think she could read over again instead of attacking me for not offering to foster this dog. If I fostered the dog I would have been in over my head because of my current situation. I know where to draw the line, something that we MUST learn. Answer: Well now a lot of deletions have been made by the O.P, a lot of edits and changes...which seems to make the rest of us look like the bad ones and make Lisa look like an angel. Atleast when I make a deletion I indicate why and what I was deleting. Perhaps the op's previous posts were made in hasty cirucumstances. I understand that and hope that with time her judgement over this clears. I know this isn't the right time for jokes but Luba - are you accusing me of something!?!?!? Yes, I am an Angel !! I've been trying to follow this thread but obviously I've missed a lot and I agree that since I last checked in a lot has been deleted. Either way, I am very sad to hear about poor Grace. I hope that she has found eternal happiness, free from any disability...good luck Grace LISSA!!! Answer: My heart is breaking for Grace, I'm sorry I couldn't help her. I think everyone is hurt over this, as we all are for every fur baby that doesn't have a happy home, and dies in this cruel human world. I think everyone here would save every furball they could. Grace was not saved to live a long and happy life. Please everyone, just say a little prayer for this lost soul. Answer: That was directed to LISA the O.P. (thats how she signed off) sorry, I typed TOO fast! I'll correct my typo error now. Angel Lissa Answer: In Loving Memory You can shed tears that she is gone or you can smile because she lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back or you can open your eyes and see all she's left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see her or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her and only that she's gone or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and lose your mind, be empty and turn your back or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on. ~Author Unknown~ Answer: I never actually seen that one before , that is lovely thank you for posting it! Answer: I dont know about all the history of it, but it doesnt matter, canine, my condolences, i hope grace is able to rest in peace Eleni Answer: I do not know the history behind the nastiness but I honestly think it is so very uncalled for at a time like this. My God, it is heartless to make someone who has tried to help an animal fel even worse. And if people do have concerns - as I would say to parents of some of my patients - take it away from here!! I am sorry for your loss Lisa! Answer: I'm sorry to hear about Grace and all my sympathies on your loss. You did the best you could for her. Her spirit will always be by your side. Deanna Answer: You tried Canine, and thats what counts, she knew love for a little while, and my hat is off to you. Please please don't quit doing what you're doing, too many animals need people like you. Answer: I'm very sorry for your sad loss. My deepest condolences to you. Answer: Since it looks like Canine14 will not be back, I"m closing this thread.:( Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
