Nail file .... for cats???
Question: There have been a few threads here relating to clipping a puppy's nails or using a dremmel/nail file or even building your own nail file contraption for your dog. I was just wondering if anybody has used a nail file or emery board on a cat? Our Boyz aren't very enthusiastic about getting their nails clipped (we manage, but it's not always easy and sometimes takes a few sessions), so I was wondering if I could try filing them instead? Any opinions/ideas? Answer: I don't know- (I saw this thread blowing away unanswered, so I revived it, and now I'm curious too.) Is there any other way to do a cat's nails? I have a friend who might love an alternative too... Answer: Hi there, I have used a nail file (people type) on my long haired Chihuahua, and on my indoor Birman Cat. I usually use after clipping though, to get rid of the rough and sharp edges of their nails. I did once use it on the cat because I couldnt find the nail clippers, worked just fine, and aside from trying to get the cat to stay still for the 30 minutes it took to file em off it worked just fine.
