I am moving to the U.S. from Canada
Question: I have a dwarf bunny, and I will be travellng to the U.S. in a few weeks. I was wondering if there are any special considerations for her while in transit ( she will be taveling as carry on). Will she need to be inoculated? Will air travel hurt her ears? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Irishmist Answer: I used to travel with my Dwarf Netherland but it was a couple years ago. He seemed to weather the plane alright but I did have to get permission from the airline in order to take him in the cabin with me. I also had to have certification from the vet that he had the proper innoculations, including one for rabies. (Customs can sometimes give you a tough time if they decide a rabbit is "lifestock"). Answer: thank you cyberkitten, I appreciate the info Irishmist Answer: Hello Irishmist I don't think there are any requirements for rabbits for the USA but you should be checking with the CFIA Animal Health Export Specialist. This is the one for the Ontario region: Dr. Marilyn Homewood / (Karen Leduc - Assistant) Export Officer, Animal Health, CFIA 174 Stone Road West Guelph, Ontario N1G 4S9 Telephone: (519) 837-9400 Facsimile: (519) 837-9773 Lyne Answer: Thanks lyne I just emailed her.
