Cats & Violins
Question: I'm learning the violin and so the noise I make isn't quite "music" yet. I'm mostly just learning the notes and playing them slowly and correctly. My two cats start acting weird when I play. One paces in and out of the room crying/singing/meowing... I'm not sure what. The other gets all clingy and tries to sit on my lap. Am I hurting their ears or something? Granted some of the noise may not be pleasant but is there some reason they're acting so strange? Should I shut them away if I am hurting them? Answer: When I first started playing the violin, my dog at the time (dalmation) would howl endlessly at me. I don't think it's an overly-pleasent sound for them Answer: Another thing I notice is that both of them will try and climb into my case and huddle in there.. at the same time. I also have to constantly push the little one off of me coz all of a sudden he's super sucky and won't leave me alone. Crazy cats. Just hope I'm not hurting them. Answer: How adorable! You've got musical cats. And critics, too, apparently. Answer: Maybe you sound like a cat in trouble... Answer: Hmm... I never thought of that. Injured/troubled cat. Anything I can do to reassure them all's OK? Answer: I wouldn't worry too much. It's a new, (and no offense) pretty harsh sound. They should get used to it with time (and practice ) Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
