Kitten with Chronic Vomiting *Please Help*

Question:
I have a kitten ( Cali) approximately 8-8 1/2 months old. ( she was rescued from the side of the road along with 5 others from the litter)
After deciding to keep one of the kittens we immediately took her to the vet to check for Feline Leukemia (Felv, FIV test), deworming, and vaccinations. Tests came out negative.

Month 1- Cali was bottle fed every 4 hours - her stool was soft and runny which we as well as the vet attributed to the bottle feeding. She is very active and playful.

Months 2-3 - we upgrade to moist kitten food - Cali's bowel movements have foul odor and continues to be runny. She would often defecate in corners of the room although several litter boxes have been stategically placed throughout the house (where she had "gone" before we would clean the area and add a litter box) We take Cali in for more tests bringing along a stool sample. The vet suspects it may be Giardia. Which she tests negative for. Cali is still very active and playful

Month 5- Cali mastered the litter box! And I changed her food to Eukanuba for kittens, which remedied the diarrhea.

Month 6- I come home on a Friday and Cali has vomited at least 3 times (vomit is brown with kibble). She was still eating and drinking, but not as active as usual. Saturday she was vomiting but still eating some and drinking her normal intake of water, but she had had no bowel movements for 2 days. Sunday the vomit became green to clear, then clear with what looked like small blood clots, still no bowel movements nor unrination. We took her to the Emergency Vet Clinic where X-rays (to see if she had swallowed a Q-tip or anything else) and blood work was done they also gave her fluids under the skin. Nothing came up in the X-rays nor in the blood work. We took her to our regular vet on Monday for a follow up she was very lathargic and cried when she was picked up. More blood work was done. Wednesday the vet called and said nothing came up with the blood work. I took her back to vet for more fluids which was also put under the skin. Moments after getting her home she is still vomits clear liquid. She was not eating not drinking. It was recommended that I give her chicken baby food or boiled chicken breast and Pedialyte. She would not drink the Pedialyte but ate some chicken breasts which she vomitted up.

Friday she is better. No vomit, playful, eating, drinking, going to the litterbox.

Month 8- 2 months later it is now January she is vomiting again. January 17th same scenario as before she has vomitted up her food in several locations. Still drinking still eating. 18th vomit became green to clear then clear with small red spots. Yesterday I started feeding her small amounts of boiled chicken breasts which she eats then vomits up within 20 minutes. she was drinking normal amounts of water. She was not active at all she would just sit and not move or sleep. The 19th, today, no vomit but she is not eating and drinking little there have been no bowel movements since Monday night. She just sleeps and cries when she is picked up. She hisses when I touch her lower stomach.

I know this is a very long post just trying to include everything. My vet has no idea what is wrong with her. He is baffled that it suddenly "went away" and the sickness comes back 2 months later. If anyone can be of any assistance I would greatly, greatly appreciate it.

I"m no vet, just offering my opinion.
Is there anything in your home, that the cat can be getting into?
plants, any chemicals, or mouse poison, anti freeze, paint thinners, cleaners or anything at all you can think of? are you using any cleaner to wash Cali's
dishes ? Does Cali go outside? Because it almost sound like the cat is being poisoned.

Answer:
Both cats are indoors cats that never go outside. All cleaners are put away. I've racked my brain trying to think of similarities from November to now and there isn't anything in the house that has changed since we brought her home. I just checked the plants (just in case) and none of them have been nibbled on (when this first started we gave the vet samples of the plants in the home and he assured that they were "cat-friendly" . Also, have another cat who is 4 yrs old and she is fine.

Answer:
small intestine blockage? These symptoms sound very similar to a friends cat who had these difficulties. At first look, it was thought mega esophagus but then small intestine blockage was confirmed. Don't know if this helps, just a thought.

Answer:
I appreciate any and all advice. Thank you.

Answer:
small intestine blockage?
I was sort of thinking of that too. A friend's cat had all those symptoms, but more severe as the blockage was larger. Vomiting bile, not eating or drinking, lethargy etc.

The cat had eaten a foam earplug which didn't show up on Xray and was found only with surgery.

Answer:
I agree re small intestinal blockage. It sounds very similar to symptoms for that and sometimes vets just cannot diagnise it right away. It is certainly an intestinal illness of some kind. But I am just guessing. Poor Cali!! I hope she will be OK. My bunny died of an intestinal illness that led to liver failure but he was geriatric - his system simply could no longer digest food. The symptoms are painfully similar! Is Cali eliminating properly? That can be very important too.
