A happy ending

Question:
I just got off the phone with my dad who lives in windsor, he has a few stray cats around his house, whenever I go to visit I pick up some cat food so he can feed them, my dad is 77 yrs old and not in the greatest health. Last week he was going out his front door and there was a cat in his cubby hole( he lives in row housing) with 4 babies so he gave the cat the rest of the food that was left there when I was there at xmas. He then walked to the grocery store about 15 min away and bought some dry and wet food and warmed up the wet food to feed to the mommy, because it was cold out there. He called my brother and asked him to come get the cats and take them to the spca so when him and my neice got there my neice fell in love and begged my brother not to take them to the spca so they called my sister inlaw and asked her to come and see the kittens , at first she was gonna take one kitten but my neice begged her to take all of them and because they were still nursing they couldnt really take them away from the mom so they took them all home They have taked them to the vet and she said the mom is a bit undernurished but will be just fine, my brother says the mother cat is soooooooo affectionate and the babies are soooo cute. Im so glad for my neice, she is sooooo happy that they were able to save these cats. Now the only dilemma she is facing is what to name them all

Answer:
Coonlover, that's a wonderful story, kudos to your dad and his big heart;he probably saved the lives of those kittens
Is your brother planning on keeping them all??That's a lot of cats

Answer:
I asked my brother that same question, he said his daughter is already sooo attached to them all so he doesnt think he is going to be able to part with any of them, he has them all in the basement near the gas fireplace to keep them warm, he went shopping with his daughter and spent a ton of money on toys and good food ( I recomended wellness) and 4 litter boxes and a cat tree that she saw at the pet store, they cant use it yet they are only about 3 weeks old.

Answer:
Oh wow!!!That's great,I can just envision a dad who cannot say no to his little girl Lucky, lucky momma cat and kittens!!!

Answer:
Im waiting for him to send me some pics hes taking with his new digicam then i will post them here. They had one cat but it passed on about 2 months ago and my niece has been begging for a new cat to love, well she has 5 to love now. My sisterinlaw said she is going to have them all fixed as soon as they are old enough.

Answer:
Yeah for your niece she has obviously got dad wrapped around her finger

Answer:
That is soooo true, its hard to say no to those big brown eyes, and Im glad he couldnt for those kitties sakes

Answer:
I was talking to my brother and he told me that the little girl who lives next door to them and is my neices best friend lost her cat on the weekend to a car The little girl was devastated so she was over my brothers house and my neice asked my brother if she could give her friend one if her kittens, of course my brother said yes as long as it was ok with her friends parents, he called them and they said yes, here's the good part, my neice said she would only give her a cat if she would sign a paper saying the cat would be an indoor cat, and she would get the cat fixed, and promise not to declaw ( my sis inlaw threw that part in there). So on monday my neice brought the paper over to the neighbours and made both parents sign it. I think my brother was very proud of his little girl and I am too, oh yea she also wants visiting rights to the cat to make sure she is well taken care of.

Answer:
What a lovely ending. It's great to see a younger generation becoming more aware! Thank for sharing that.

Answer:
What a heart-warming story, and three cheers for your dad for his kind and caring heart!

Answer:
Great story! The fruit doesn't fall far from the tree. I'd be willing to bet that the majority of the kids of all of you on this board are also very aware and would do the same thing.

Answer:
I'm still waitng for pics of these babies, my brother filled his new camera but has no idea how to put them on his pc.
