Bravo! I had something, but I think you topped me!

Answer:
Could you come back in the door just for a second and tell me what the "Iams Thing" is?

Answer:
When I came here in October I had no idea about the Iams issue and I was feeding my pit Eukanuba. Also had no idea about pet stores. We need to be an educational outlet. But now Im better for it and Im sure instead of being standoffish we should realize that not everyone recieved the animal all points bulletin. Its a little discouraging when you ask something and are jumped all over as if you should have known.. Just my opinion.

Answer:
Iams and Science Diet are both crap food. Iams has been accused of animal testing and keeping animals in deplorable conditions. I have seen the video remember this is a PETA tape so take it with a grain of salt. It has also been around for quite awhile. I don't have a link to it but I do not support PETA as a whole they are way to fanatical for my taste, right up there with anti-abortionists that kill doctors. I had recieved a letter from Iams last year after I wrote to them about this issue I recieved a letter back with in 2 weeks inviting me to tour the facility in question with no advance warning just call when I arrive. I really don't think they would do this if they had something to hide. I do believe they have cleaned up their act, hopefully. I also believe that some of these accusations were true but remember it is PETA behind it and they also dont believe people should own pets and that pit bulls should be killed. They also claim to animal rights activists, don't sound like it to me

Cool! Split you for gas! I'm always up for a road trip!

I think that says something, anyway.

Answer:

Answer:
Animal Planet... really... what a load of crap. They have no real emotional attachment to animal welfare just ratings and shock value (think of Who's my Baby or whatever that crap show is called- YUCK). Truly a C-R-A-P channel. Get real and get to the root of animal problems, and I'll tune back. And whoever does that Funniest Animals show needs to be shot and peed on. Stooooooooooooopid.

Answer:
Gee, Cflat - don't hold back. Tell us what you really think!

I don't recall jumping all over anyone at all, when I initially posted, it was because I was at work, and only had a second to post, I figured someone would explain the whole thing. In my own opinion, I do not support Iams, because I cannot support any company that purports to love animals so much, and yet admitted to animal testing. I have a big problem with that. Sorry I sounded so abrupt in my initial post, I just found it ironic that animal planet would need to advertise Iams on a pet lovers board.

Answer:
I watch Animal Planet on a regular basis, stay away from the gruesome parts, but love to see shows about"The Big Cats" and other Nature Shows+several good educational shows on the National Geographic ch.
Iams is a big sponsor of Animal Planet and I suppose they'll take the money wherever they can get it.
Many of the big dog-shows are also sponsored by Eukaneba.
I too fed my cats Iams and Eukaneba at one point, but after I became more knowledgable about ingredients, realized it was junk...
I USED to figure,if it's advertised on TV it has to be good, but TV ads also promise miracle-cremes to remove my wrinkles so there you go!!!

Answer:
Bearsmom I just meant in general I think we love these animals so much that we get lost in defending them and forget that people need to be told about something before they can know about it. Not just in this post. In a lot of posts we often jump all over someone who may be oblivious to it and don't give them a chance to learn. Thats all. No harm in my eyes just saying.

Answer:
I do like watching Animal Planet. The shows are quite cute and it's light entertainment. Some of the videos on Planet's Funniest Animals are too cute for words. I think people like to send videos to contests like the ones presented by Iams because it allows them another forum to express how much they love their pets. I think Grissom thinks he's being followed by the papparazzi every time we visit him 'cuz the cameras never stop! It's fun to share your pets lives with people.

Answer:
My hubby likes watching the shows (or maybe it's Discovery channel?) of the shows about spiders, snakes, whatever. Good time for me to make a QUICK exit then! Can't stand the sight of even the teensiest spider, I scream like a schoolgirl.
