Natural Blend puppy food

Question:
I changed puppy food yesterday, from Solid Gold Hunden en Flocken.

Ebony was showing disinterest in her food, and was only eating once a day. So I figured she is bored with her food, I would be too if this is all I had to eat for 4 months in a row!

So I am trying Natural Blend puppy food. The minute I put some in her bowl, she started eating and polished the whole lot up, licking the bowl.
This morning I gave her more, and again, all gone in one go! I am thrilled she likes it.

I must admit, it was the packaging that was my deciding factor. It has a cute puppy face on it, but also photos of the blueberries, oats, carrots, broccoli, barley, garlic, salmon...It looks so yummy, I went to the grocery store afterwards and bought salmon, vegetables, blueberries and fruit for myself too! lol

Any comments on this brand? Is it as good as I am hoping?
It is made in , which is a bonus

Answer:
never heard of it. Sorry.

I was told that you should never change dog food because your dog isn't eating it, because that just teaches them to be picky. Because your dog wasn't eating the food as much, you went out and got new food. Your dog just learned that if she/he doesnt eat, she may get something different.

Once a day isn't horrible. Have you tried adding water to the other food to make it soft and more palatable?

Answer:
natural blend is by royal canine. Who in themselves have bought out technical, and medical. It is one of the best commercial foods out there, but It is also still made at the same plants as all their other foods. Which also means there can be corn or other meats put in. No one really knows.
I used to feed it to my first dog, and he loved it. And also did well. I just have started to do more research.

Answer:
It is a holistic food, according to the store owner. In the same category (and shelf) as Solid Gold.

I disagree with the change. Why should I keep her on a food that has become boring, and all she is doing is looking elsewhere for food, like spying my childrens toast in the morning.

She has eaten so well today, I am amazed. She ate all her breakfast this morning and had a nibble at lunch time too, and didn't go bother my kids for their toast crumbs, or discarded sandwich crusts. This is a good sign to me. I want her to eat her own food, not scraps from us (which she isn't getting, anyway).

Answer:
I don't consider it a holistic food. Depending on which formula you bought (is yours the one with the black dog on it? Natural Blend), they seem to all have stool hardeners and Brewer's rice. Brewer's rice is a by-product. It's rice with all the nutrients sucked out for human foods/drinks. If I'm paying for a holistic food, I don't want brewer's rice in it. I want whole brown rice.

Also all the bacteria they put in the food are useless if they are put in there before cooking. Good bacteria only help if they are alive.

It's definitely not the quality of solid gold, IMO, but it's definitely not a horrible food. I'd put it over Eagle Pack but under wellness and solid gold.

I agree with changing if the dog becomes less passionate about feeding, but only once in a really long time. My dogs have been on Wolf King for probably over a year now and are still excited to eat in the morning. I don't think a dog ever gets tired of a really tasty food. That said, this doggy isn't the first I've heard of who didn't find Hundnflocken tasty.

Answer:
Sorry, I cannot agree with the store clerk. It is not in the same category as Solid Gold. It is not a bad food but it is not one of the best.

I like the fact with Solid Gold that all their food is excellent quality. They do not make different qualities as other companies do.

If your dog did not like the one it was eating I would suggest you try a different flavor, for example Wolf Cub (depending on your dogs size).

Answer:
Schultz was also hating his food when he was eating dried kibble. I changed it, not because he was not liking it, but because of his skin problems. It really pained me to see him hating his food though (he really really hated medi-cal, let me tell you). He liked Solid Gold a lot better, but still wasn't excited about it. I think that you have to look at the ingredients of what you are feeding and make a choice what is best for your dog.

Now that I have switched from kibble to raw, Schultz is EXCITED to eat his food. He mills around my feet, sometimes even scratching my feet so I get his food on the floor faster. I am never going to go back to kibble, that's for sure because I know it is the best for my dog, and he tells me it is too.

Answer:
i buy differnt puppy food from 2 vets. one is science diet for puppy and the other vet has Hills puppy food. My dog polishes both off.

Answer:
Sorry, Loveyadogs, but those two aren't very good foods... Both have by-products and lots, and lots of corn, which really can affect dogs with allergies or food intolerances...

Answer:

Answer:
Any holistic dog food store- stores where Iams and Proplan are the worst brands in there...
