Cat with chipped tooth?
Question: G'day all!...I awoke this am to my cat 'sticking his tongue out of his mouth' constantly...I searched the internet on google for this and found that it could be a tooth problem...I found that he had the small tip of his fang tooth chipped...he is a precocious cat, normally extemely playful...not so this morn. ...he kept going to his dish but ate only a few nibbles (dry food), so I gave him a little tuna to see if he would eat and he did so...it doesn't appear that the chip is big I can see that no inside of the tooth is showing...should I see the vet or will this be fine?... thanks inadvance. Answer: IF he's not behaving normally, sticking his tongue out and is unable to eat his usual food, you'll have to take him to the vet. Whatever force broke the tooth may have caused something like a hairline crack as well which can cause pain, or there might be something else going on. Answer: thanks for your reply...I took him to the vet and he checks out fine!...it may be that my playful, rambunctious boy ran into something hard when he was playing...his tooth is fine, not a bad break to his tooth, but he seems to have bruised his chin!...that's my boy!...the vet did give him an antibiotic and pain injections just to be on the safe side...thought i'd let you know...
