mobicox and dogs
Question: Hi I recently heard that mobicox (metacam) is being used to dogs to treat arthitis. Just was wonderng if anyone knew what the dosage would be per day. I looked on the internet but didn't find out much. any help would be great. Answer: Why not ask your vet? Answer: This is a powerful drug that can have serious and damaging side effects. A lot of factors must be weighed - dog age, severity of arthritis, alternative meds etc. Do not give this medication without discussing it with your vet. Answer: my 2 min pins are on this, f. takes 0.3 and male takes 0.4, but contact vet to find out how much to give !!!!my little ones are small, good luck. Answer: Oh I hate this drug, I'm allergic to it. I started to have breathing problems when I took it like I would stop breathing and my hubby would wake me up at night. I use to take it before I went to bed, now I can't take any of these drugs anymore as I could have developed an allergy to them too. I can't even take asprin based drugs. I just suffer in silence, as no one likes a complainer. Answer: Originally Posted by doggy lover I just suffer in silence, as no one likes a complainer. If you post a rant about it, I'll read it. Answer: I have heard that Adequan is a good alternative to Rimadyl and the rest of the NSAIDs. It is an injection that you get at the vet. Answer: I just want to echo Lucky Rescue in saying that this is a heavy-duty drug which with prolonged use permanently damages organs. Ceili gets hers only when absolutely necessary and she is laid low by it for days every time. Glucosamine + MSM + Chondroitin (which you can get at any pharmacy or health food store), shark's cartilage (health food store) and Sacha's Blend (all-natural product from a Vet) are all viable alternatives without the worries.
