just got a new cat
Question: Hello I have recently about a week ago adopted a barn cat shes indoors now shes 10 months old exactly shes not a big cat but shes not to small i was just curious are the chances of her getting a bit bigger still good? DO they really still grow till they are a year old? ALSo will she become more solid and build more muscle on her own by feeding her a healthy kitten food like wellness? Please let me know THNX Answer: AT 10 months, she's probably as big as she is going to get. She doesn't need kitten food either. Since she was a barn cat, I assume you've had her vet checked for things like worms and fleas? Answer: yes she has been i hear mixed things like some people say its not possible while others say very good cance she will grow more. I hope she does now that the food shes getting is the best quality (wellness) I puposly put her on kitten food because my vet told me its the best way for young cats to build lean muscle and get strong Answer: my cat Twister is very small and a year old. She's also very lean. The only thing the vet told us is to make sure she's eating and possibly encourage her to eat more. If we try to feed her more than she's used to she just throws up. Finally our vet said that that just may be her size, and as long as she was healthy and I was sure that she was eating and drinking water that we'll have to get used to her. Thunder, who is half Twister's age, is almost twice as big and still growing. You may just end up with a small cat! Just make sure she's healthy and happy. =) Answer: Some cats are just naturally small. My first cat Pepper weighed a whopping 4 pounds most of her life and 5 pounds after "middle age spread" happened to her. My current furry Dancer did grow somewhat after coming inside, but it was more of a filling out than gaining length or height. Hi lucky, while visiting a sister in the valley 2 stray kittens starteed hanging around the apartment complex. sis and I fed the starving kitties. many small boys in the complex were abusive to the kittens and at night I would wake up the sound of cats fighting. going outside to chase the cats off I saw several large adult cats surrounding the little kittens. as I advanced the bigger cats ran off. the smaller kittens, a calico about 2 pounds and a tortie approx 3.5 to 4 pounds would then escape to safety. I told my sister if the kittens were around when I left for home I would take them with me. On Saturday as it happened the calico was not around but the darker tortie was, so I took her. on the way homeI stopped at my vets to have her checked over but he, the vet had just left so I set up an appointment for the following Thursday. I namedour new family member Gwyneth by the following thursday Gwyneth had gained 2 pounds, since she ate almost continually this was no surprise to us what was a surprise was after the initial check-up the the doctor asked if I wanted to make an appointment to get her spayed. I told him that I didn't think she was old enough thinking because of her size, that she was about 2 or three months old he the vet said she's over a year old wow after I recovered from the shock I asked how soon I could get her in, thank God he daid "it" could be done that afternoon. Gwyneth is now 4+ years old and weights in at approximately 11 pounds is twice as tall and as long as she was when I first brought her home. So continue to love your kitty and give it good quality food whether homemade or storebought. It's amazing what the body can do if given what it needs to do it. whether human or animal. p.s.my next visit to sis' I brought Gwyneth's sister home but Gwyneth had established herself as the alpha female and was mean to the calico so after having her spayed I found a new home for her. WOW sorry if I got to wordy for you. Answer: Hi everyone and anyone I have a question, We have two cats an alpha female tortie and a loving but timid male both adults we lost my lab a few years ago do to old age. and I did not have the desire to get another dog . I was so heart broken that my hasband told me we could get another dog after having said never again because of the greif. but I told him I did;nt miss "having a dog", but I missed my Billy dog. We are now both ready to add to our family we have a large fenced yard and I prefer the bigger breeds. at the mall a few weeks ago puppies were being given away although I want an adult. both my husband & I were drawn to one puppy in particular. we were told the mother is a queensland heeler. and the father is beleived to be a rottweiler. I have no experience with rotties does anyone know if 1-do they do well with cats? I would prefer 2 dogs, for companionship 2-as a rule do rotties do well w/other dogs 3-how are they indoors 4-if we get an older rottie will it adapt 5- any specail needs would prefer to give an unwanted dog or dogs a home so breed is not important but if we see these puppies again I wanted to know what I might be getting into Answer: Originally Posted by Lucky Rescue AT 10 months, she's probably as big as she is going to get.
