Question:
I have a 3 year old black lab (Bentley) and we just adopted a 12 week old lab mix from the animal shelter. My older dog is having some anxiety over the situation - he sniffs the dog and wags his tail but wants to keep his distance. He is also drooling excessively! I have never seen him do this. He isn't ill because he just had a checkup and otherwise plays ball and acts fine. We had the puppy in his crate in the kitchen and Bentley just sleeps on his bed on the kitchen but Bentley didn't want to sleep in there at all. What can we do to help him with this newcomer? Thanks.

How long have you had the new puppy? Sounds like Bentley is a little anxious about sharing the attention. Just let them interact with one another, supervised of course, and I`m sure everything will work out fine.
