i thought when this gets done to a male cat , it stops it spraying, my cat has just sprayed my bed, any ideas?

Your female cat is certainly old enough to be in heat, and the smell may be causing your male to spray. I can't be 100% sure that's it, but it certainly doesn't help.

I would get her spayed asap.

My 11yr old spayed female sprays!! we have only caught her spraying outside thank goodness ( on my neighbours car tires!!) Not pretty.We have 3 other cats they are all also fixed. One can only assume she does it due to other unaltered cats in the area.
