I just got a call from my dad whose dog walking partner is in absolute tears. Her dog got hit by a car this afternoon (thursday), and is now at the emergency hospital in St.Dorothy, Laval.

She has fallen on hard times and needs either a sponsor or a benevolent vet or a vet who can offer a payment plan. They are going to amputate her dog's leg for $200.00 in the next day or so because she can't afford the $2000.00 - $3000.00 operation.

Does anyone have any recomendations. Sorry. I don't have any more details.

I don't know any vets open after 9:30 other than the DMV (on 52nd ave in Lachine off Cote de Liesse) and they're very expensive (but really great, with tons of specialists). I'm new to laval, so I don't know any up here. Sorry!

Just an update on this situation.

The daughter of the dog owner found a vet in Joliette who said he would help with the cost. When they brought her there to be examined, the vet suggested not amputating or operating but putting her in some type of bandage and medication.

The dog has since recovered and has all four legs!
