Human scratching post

Question:
My 1 year old male cat has a habit of running out from behind the corner and pouncing with claws out onto my leg (then proceeds to hang there for 1 second and sprint off). I've tried hissing at him before he starts to run at me, it does stop him from pouncing, but most of the time he catches me off guard before I can scare him away. It's not a big issue when I have a long pair of pants on but when I'm in shorts...ouch.
Even with the claws trimmed I still get those long red marks on my legs haha. Is there any other method to stop this?

Answer:
A collar with a bell on it? LOL sorry, I don't mean to poke fun at your issue, my old kitty (polydactyl half meezer) used to do the same thing - hissing, loud clapping and even spray bottle only worked if I could catch her *before* she landed on my legs or scaled me. We finally got her a collar with a bell which gave me fair warning (even when she was in mid-air) enough to move quickly out of the way.

Answer:
Haha, well I tried putting on a collar before but my mother doesn't like the cat collar on. The reason is she wants the cat to be able to go mousing and is afraid that the collar will scare off the mice before the cat gets there haha.
