Need advice...- dog picky about pee spot
Question: I have a 4 year old (neutered) labrador retriever. He is VERY picky about where he pees when he is outside. I have even taken him for walks when he has waited until he returned to our backyard before using the bathroom. BUT today, he went downstairs in our rec room and peed on the floor. My bf and I had to leave him with his parents since yesterday and he did this before we returned. Any advice on what is going on? Answer: Very unusual that he won't pee on walks. Don't think I've ever seen a male dog who didn't want to pee everywhere that other dogs have peed. He may have gone in the house because he was upset at your absence? Or maybe he wasn't taken out? Answer: How long have you had him? Has he always been like this? Some dogs can get scared to pee in their owners' presence, if they have been too harshly corrected for peeing inside, or if they are just really sensitive dogs. Just a thought. If this is new behaviour, a vet urine check probably wouldn't hurt just to rule out anything medical. Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
