Another feeding question....

Question:
We have a 10 wk old lab/mix puppy named Darcy, who up until tonight was eating Iams Puppy (sorry, sorry, we didn't know better until I started visiting here!). Tonight I began the gradual introduction of her new food (Nutro NC Ultra Puppy) mixed with the old food. My problem is this: she immediately picked out and ate the new food and left the Iams in the bowl...so should I keep mixing them as recommended, or take her cue and just give her the Nutro? Thanks.

Answer:
It depends if it is too hard for the doggy's stomach. If she can take it, it may be ok. Otherwise, I would feed the Iams portion first and when that is finished, give the Nutro portion.

Answer:
Many dogs are fine when just feed the new food, Blaze was put right on Nutro at 9 weeks and was fine... no problems with poops. Some dogs must be mixed... mix and let her eat what she likes.
