Question:
I want to start giving my dogs garlic pills to see if that will help w/flea control. I'm wondering if it matters what kind (as in) is the ordorless OK and what about tablet form?

depends, if you dont mind the smell of garlic breath (dogsbreath disgusting anyways, so not an issure really) just give cloves of garlic (whole clove, jsut like a pill, straight down the gullet). i give about 1 per week for a 35kg GSDx and she has no fleas, or if their really bad in summer she does not get as many.. i have been told that garlic can thin the blood so too much can be a problem. ask your vet if you want to give more than once a week.

but it is a great idea for a natural flea solution, i have been told for serious infestation of fleas you can make up a garlic juice and spray the dog (from the Molly Dyer home book of remedies), yeah sure it may be a bit stinky but it is natural and better for all involved.

I read that both onions and garlic can cause anemia.

The last site says that Garlic is ok in moderation.

I don't know if this applies to the pill form or not.

I do know that I have seen other sites that recommend it so I don't know. Just thought you would want to check these out before you decide.
