First Aid for Dogs?
Question: Is there a site for First Aid Treatment for dogs? Like what to do when your dog is choking or has a cut etc? My dog is fine btw. Answer: I have a book "Dog Owner's Home Veterinary HandBook" by Giffin and Carlson. THey have a whole chapter in there on first aid. I've gone through a lot of home vet books and I think this one is the best. They sell it at chapters. It has all the diseases and a page of just symptoms so you can look up your symptoms before you go to the vet. Someone should make this a sticky somewhere. Answer: I also took a course through a local "continuing education" offering. Have you looked at those? Usually offered by local community centers and such. Just a thought. Answer: Oakland Educational Services puts on a day and a half course where you can bring your dog and learn hands on. They're really great! I don't know if they go out your way, but try them out. I don't know their website, but just Google it and you'll find it I'm sure.
