Kitty has an eye infection

Question:
My kitty has an eye infection. I have a colloidal silver generator. Would it be safe to put
colloidal silver in his eye? If not, how can I help him, please? Thank you.

Answer:
I don't know about using the silver,. But I just had two kittens with infected eyes. I gently cleaned around their eyes with warm water or cold tea on a soft cloth. Then I used polysporin eye drops - one drop per eye per day. This seemed to clear things up. Hope this helps !

Answer:
Thank you very much. I will go get some of the eyedrops today.

Answer:
One of our adult Cats had a weepy eye and a runny nose. After taking her to our Vet, it was immediately diagnosed as an infected tooth. This shocked me. Evidently Cats and Dogs (I believe), their teeth root endings actually connect into their tear ducts. If there is a tooth infection, it could produce a weepy eye and runny nose. I hope this helps, but I do advise taking your Cat to your Vet first.

James.

Answer:
Thank you James. That is good information and if it
doesn't clear up right away, I will take Sunshine in
to a vet. I don't even know a cat vet here. The one
I took Papa to in Texas, a Dr. Happy, loved cats
and worked at a large vet clinic where she took all
the cats. But years ago I had a cat up here and the
vet (now gone thank goodness), that I took my cat to
was very unsatisfactory and I found out later that
he hated cats. I am going to have to ask around to
find one. Dr. Happy not only dressed Papa's wounds,
she looked all over at his skin under his fur and
was able to diagnose him as being extremely allergic
to plastic. So I quit feeding the cats out of
plastic bowls and bought them some stainless steel
bowls. A really good vet is a wonderful resource.
Unfortunately, I cannot afford a hundred dollars every
time I turn around or I would be there in a New York
minute.
