Question:
A stray cat of ours has a tattoo in his ear,and we have no idea how to track it. Cat is not purebred.

Any ideas?

I would contact either your vet or local animal shelter... they'll probably be familiar with which agency uses which tattoos and where.

Lucky, my understanding on ear tattoos is that they're only good if cat is still in the same city. But, if kitty is from that area, and probably is - it "should" be able to be traced.

The letter/ number sequence on the tattoo denotes the particular vet clinic where it was done.
How to track this?
The only thing I can suggest is to try calling a few random vets in the area and see if they can help you track down the right clinic.
