Question:

Today I went to the spca to do some volunteering with the
rabbits and I saw a sweet hedghog , well actually 2, but someone
took one. ANYWAYS, I really liked this white one and I decided, why not take him home... yep I can't stop getting animals. hehe.
So I have him at home, he's pretty nervous and hisses at some people,
he seemed to open up to me right away, but he puffes up a lot. IS this normal??
ALso can anybody tell me what they know about hedgehogS?

Congratulations on your new baby! My mom used to have a hedgehog when i lived at home....he was definitely an interesting pet. Puffing up is normal for a hedgehog when they are scared/in defense mode, i think. Otherwise, all i really remember is that our little guy loved mealworms and make sure you have some kind of a hiding spot for him in his cage. Have fun and good luck

I had a hedgehog when I was a kid, he was skinky like hell. I remember feeding him salt and he coughed like a baby, very amusing for a kid.
