London Dog Owners' Ass'n
Question: for anyone interested, here's the website for our new Dog Owner's Association in London. We have 2 new leash free parks coming this summer!! Yippee!! We are even asking the city to consider pitbull playtimes within these parks, as they need to play and get the willies out too! It was a unanimous decision within our group to ask the city to look at this idea. Ta hell with Bryant the tyrant and his Bill132.....we want ALL dogs to be healthy and happy and exercised, regardless of the breed!! Answer: is it just me, or is the website not listed? Answer: It's not just you. I think someone was just a little to excited. Answer: We are very interested Lezzerpezzer!!! Glad to see you guys are getting some leash free parks and also very interested to see about the Pitties Play time, is there a fenced area? Since we are hoping to catch a break from someone for a place for the Pitties to play here it would be great to know how you do with that. Don't forget to actually post the web site next time LOL Answer: Hmmm....let me try that again.....should be direct link from: www.londondogownersassociation.ca if not, try this: http://www.cintads.com/ldoa/home.htm as it is still being worked on. I have mentioned this trouble with connecting to the president of our group, and she is looking into it. Sorry for the anticipation!! Answer: And yes, the parks will be fenced with double gated entry system, full signage for safety and rules and we hope to offer a "muzzled" dog play time, mind you, I am not sure how well a dog with a muzzle can exercise! I'm pretty sure they will be muzzle free during their time in the enclosed area. That would just make sense. Answer: Thanks for looking out for us lezzerpezzer! Answer: You are most welcome, Luvmypit! On my street alone, there are 3 pits or pit X dogs, (I'm still trying to wrap my head around what a "pit-type" dog is ), and they are all little cupcakes in my eyes One owner was already taking her dog out fully muzzled, harnessed, chained etc., as she thought the law had already taken effect, and she has been repeatedly harrassed and been the recipient of dirty looks and comments. The poor dog had no experience wearing a muzzle and looked so dejected and confused. I told her to take off all of Brandy's rediculous and unnecessary gear, stuffed her hands and mind with literature and the truth about BSL and she left one happy camper! She was so afraid to walk her dog, so I helped her with reams of stuff that I gleen mostly from here! She is very greatful and I have taken her and the other pits in my area under my wing. I was quite impressed with the pres of my group suggesting a pitbull/muzzled dog play time in our parks and even more impressed that each and every member of the group fully supported this idea without the slightest hesitation. We initially had a few in the group who supported BSL, until the meeting at city hall in the fall. Councillors were gonna push for local BSL laws, but after all of the flack they got from constituents and pit/nonpit owners alike, they ran with their tales between their legs and decided to wait until Aug. 29 to make changes. HA! I think if we push for a happy hour at each new park, it may actually be recieved well by council. Should be interesting to see if and how it flies. Will definitely keep all posted on this one.... Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
