Is my dog pregnant????

Question:
We bought Sweep 4 weeks ago. She is 2 yrs 9 months old. She had a litter 7th january this year. In the last couple of weeks we have noticed her abdomen getting larger and her teats starting to get bigger, though still flacid. We first thought that as she had been a working dog and fed once a day and is now a family pet being fed twice that she was just putting on a bit of weight. She is, however, still getting a lot of exercise.
We have only ever had male dogs before and Sweep certainly hasn't conceived in the 4 weeks we have had her.
We noticed a 'vaseline-like' discharge over a couple of days about a week ago.
HELP!!!!!!!!

Answer:
did a vet examine her when you got her?

you really need to take her to the vet.

was it a rescue or foster you got her from?

its a shame someone would sell you an intact and potentially pregnant dog.

she needs to see a vet like humans dogs need to have their pregnancy confirmed and need vet care to assure their health during pregnancy and delivery, and especially the care of the pups and mom afterward

so if there is ANY question in your mind, get on the phone and make an appointment

Answer:
From the symptoms that you are describing, she could very well be pregnant and could have gotten pregnant before you got her. At this stage, you could feel puppies inside her belly.

I would suggest taking her to a vet if you haven't already done so. The vet will be able to palpate her and tell you for sure if she is or isn't pregnant.
