Help needed in Cochrane
Question: Its on the news and on the Cochrane Humane Website. (Cochrane is just outside Calgary) They are a no kill shelter with 100+ cats and only room for about 30. If cats dont get adopted soon they will have to have alot pts. Here is there website http://www.cochranehumane.ca/index2.htm Please pass on the word and any ideas on how to help out. Thanks Sarah (This is where Shadow came from and they seem to be a great, very caring group of people doing their best) Answer: Oh Dear, thank u for posting this. Answer: OMG,they are all beautiful, that is a very sad situation, created by stupid people. Our Oakville HS is also a no kill shelter, last time I was there, they had cages with cats everywhere..I left crying. It comes to a point where they just have to euthanize some of them Answer: What is going on these days ??????? Everyone is overflowing with animals. It is moving season in Montreal and that is always bad, but this year is insane !!! The SPCA has had to rent trailers to handle the flood of animals being dumped. Every rescue in town is full up and scrambling to save as many as possible. This is the worst it has been in recent memory Bob Barker has been telling people to spay and neuter their animals for how many years now ??? And Betty White too. What is it going to take to get the point across? What really gets to me is the fact that people are still buying pups and kitttens daily at the pet stores here. Puppy millers must be having a bonus year this year A golden was put down last weekend at the SPCA before being there 48 hours (age 8) before I could pull it out. We picked up one from Kingston HS who seized most of the night last night. I am getting frustrated, discouraged and burnt out. I am not blaming the SPCA. They are overwhelmed and trying to help as many as possible. It is like trying to mop up Niagara Falls with one roll of paper towel Answer: It is such a sad situation, I cant go in there and see the cats without crying. The dogs usually go quite fast, but you know there is hardly any hope for the cats. They only have a few posted on there site. I had no idea there were so many in there. Hopefully a few can be saved. People at work are talking about there new puppies, and one lady went out and got a second pup from petland the same day I showed her pics of rescued puppy mill dogs. I did my speech and everything. Its frustrating and It seems its just the minority of the population that cares. Im so mad these days. Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
