How long a cat can live?
Question: Just wondering?I'm not sure how old is my cat since it's a stray before i got him... How long a cat can live? 30 yrs? My cat...Is black Answer: Depends on genetic health, overall health, diet, etc. On average, inside only cats can live 15-20 years. Outdoor cats have a shorter lifespan. But just like humans, there are many other factors to determine how long any specific cat can live. Jade, Scotty, and Oscar Answer: Apa khabar Zeaq In the UK, I beleive the average age for an indoor cat is 15 years, while the average age for an outdoor cat is only 3 to 5 years. I lived in Brunei myself for five years, years ago when I was a bit younger and we looked after lots of cats there, we found that scorpions and snakes were the biggest threats (even when they were kept indoors). If your cat was a stray it might be a good idea to take him to the vets just to get him checked over, get him neutered and give him his inoculations. Answer: I'm reading a book that has a table of equivalent human years for cat years. A 20-year-old cat is equivalent to a 96-year-old human. So 30 yrs for a cat? No. I'd say, "show me the birth certificate". Answer: My in-laws lost their 19 year old cat last year. My mother has a 15 year old cat that still looks and acts like a kitten. The oldest cat I have ever personally known was 23 years old, and still frisky!! Another piece of artwork by ForJazz! Dusty - July 2000 - Medium Hair, Gray. Momma's Boy Bella - March 2004 - Short Hair, Tuxedo. Yeah stray cats are common here.Actually i'm not the type of person who likes cats but we just happen to put any leftovers food outside for any cats to eat..Many cats came and go away but this black cat just stays put. This black cat is the only cat that likes to go near me.So i just feed him.Once he ate whickas cat food..he tends to forget about the leftover food... BTW i never know there's a vet here?where is it?Seriously.... My cat...Is black Answer: If its a stray living outside they will typicall eat whatever you put in front of them as they don't know when their next meal will be and want to fill themselves up. Answer: Hi Zeaq You know we take vets for granted but there are lots of places where they aren't so accesible. We lived in Bandar Seri Begawan and used to visit with the official government vet. He was in fact a buffalo doctor who had been living in the jungle for years and was mad as a hatter - much more used to dealing with livestock, monkeys and crocodiles than domestic animals! You might however want to try the Sgt Major at one of the Gurkha bases - they have dogs and dog handlers so I am sure they must have vets as well. My mum actually brough two cats back with her when we moved back to England - I think their plane tickets cost more than ours did! Just keep feeding and being kind to your stray - he'll be a permanent fixture before you know it Stephie Answer: I personally knew a cat that had lived to be 25 years of age. I heard of a cat once that lived to be thirty so, since I knew one at 25, I would say depending on circustances 30 would be rare but, possible.
