What Cat Books Do You Recommend?

Question:
I was wondering, what cat books/magazines do you recommend? I would like to get a cat book. The one I had now is Dad's Cat Book, but it's really not a book that I want. It was free that is all. I want like Cat Fancy or like Cats for dummies, those kids of books.

Answer:
I actually got cats for dummies as a gift and found it very informative. I have it as a reference. I am a subscriber to cat fancy and the cat journal.

Yup - I have Dogwatching and Horsewatching too. Very interesting reads!
Another cat book I liked was the Nine Emotional Lives of Cats by Jeffrey Masson (I think). It`s more philosophical, and less clinical, but it definitely made me look at my cats a little differently.

Your cat can read?
Cool!

Answer:
I have a lot of cat books, too many in fact. Browse the book stores and you'll find them. Two books that I reccommend the most are:
How to keep your indoor cat sane and sound by Christine Church
K.I.S.S. (Keep it simple series) guide to cat care by Steve Duno
Both books contain lot of information about environmental enrichment for indoor cats as well as information on basic cat care.
Cat Fancy is a fun magazine but mostly for breeders. I subscribe to Cat Fancy although I'm not a breeder but I also subscribe to Catwatch and Catnip newsletters. They're from Universities of Veterinary Medicine and accept no advertising, just pure information about cats that you can use. If you can find them on the internet you can subscribe to both of them and get 2 newsletter per month. Something to look forward to. I don't remember the websites. But if you're interested in receiving those I can find out for you. Or you can type Catwatch newsletter and Catnip newsletter in the search engine.
