hey i was just curious how mnay times do you feed your cat a day? i have three cats and i feed them three times a day for canned food and give them dry food when they run out. is this enough..or too much?

Considering that in nature, cats hunts primarily at dawn and at dusk, it would seem logical that twice a day for adult cats is sufficient.
I used to give them an additional light snack before bedtime to hold them over until breakfast, but when I stopped doing that, it didn't make any difference in their morning habits.

well kitanni gets fed can stuff twice a day morning and night she gets bout a quarter of a can.
she also has a bowl of dry there too .
as i feel she needs something to crunch as well as soft stuff.this gets fill when she emptys it ,maybe once every 2 days.
i think she perfers dry stuff .

My cat gets dry and canned, whenever she wants. I have one of those rectangle dishes that's split in the middle. Every morning, one side gets a bit of dry kibble, and in the other side, I dump in one of thsoe little 3oz. cans of food. She gets to pick at either one, through the day.
And of course, fresh water every morning, too!

Two canned meals of 1.5 oz each at 6AM and 6PM, plus a snack of about 10 kibbles and a CET dental chew at bedtime. No free-feeding, as she can't stop eating if there's still food available.

Nya gets a 5.5oz can of wet a day, divided into two feedings, half in the morning, half at night. Buddy gets about 3/4 of a cup of dry put out at night, and left for the day and about a quarter of a can of wet in the morning...sometimes more at night if he's really bugging Nya for hers

If you're considering the "Light" version of foods, I suggest you reconsider because those are packed with carbs. They do have less calories and less fat, but they also lack in protein which is made up by carbs as filler. Cats won't lose weight on a high carb/low protein diet. I would keep using the same food you do now, but gradually decrease their intake.
I cut my girls back from 1/2 cup to 1/4 cup a day since we switched to a new food with no grain in it.
