What genders get along best?
Question: If I were to get another kitty, would a male or female be best? I have a 1 1/2 year old (i think ) female cat now, I've never seen her around another cat before. I am thinking of getting another kitten in the future so I was just curious as to what genders usually get along best... Thanks Melissa & Angel Answer: Yay! I ONLY POSTED THIS ONE ONCE!! **** Hehe Answer: I dont know if a male or female would be better. But I might add that since your cat now has lived by itself take it slow acclimating another one into the house hold. Answer: Party for Kittyangel!! YAY!! @@@ >>>>) **** >> >><< **** >> @@@ (((= >><< >>>>> Go with personality. The older cat will make sure the kitty knows she's the Alpha Cat! I think though sometimes the opposite sex get along better. This is not a proven thing though, like Jeanie said it depends on the personality of each cat. I've seen all combinations of genders work great... i've also seen all of the combos not work out so well. Answer: Thanks for the advice! So since Angel is very playful, but very independent, would I get another independent kitty or one that would be depedent on Angel and want to play with her? Angel has a very motherly instinct and gets along my friend's guinea pig, so I'm pretty sure she'd be ok with another kitty around. Anyway, thanks for the advice again! Melissa & Angel Answer: Perhaps she'd like a relatively submissive kitten, who still likes to play. That should appeal to her motherly instinct. Keep us posted!
