Aw, I hope Static gets better soon! A similar thing happened to Ariel a couple of years ago, the vet just gave us ointment to put in her eye twice a day for a week. That was fun, I tell you - trying to stop her from rubbing the ointment out.

Just had Maggie to the vet for this same thing last Thursday. Fortunately she didn't have a scratched cornea. The white of her eye was bloodshot and she had some swelling. I got an antibiotic/cortisone ointment for her...all clear already.
I wrapped her in a towel when putting the ointment in and kept her in it for 5 minutes so the ointment could absorb and get squished over the whole eye without any interference from her.

As if nip abuse intervention wasn't distressing enough. Now injury is added to insult. Poor little guy.

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers everyone. Static saw the vet first thing this morning. He is happy to be free from the bathroom and back to his old haunts. The doctor gave him ointment for the eye and oral antibiotic. She is making sure that his eye isn't the beginnings of a respiratory bug instead of the theorized scratch. Phew.
