Throwing a Kitty Shower!
Question: Don't know if this has been done before but my friends are up for my weird event... a Kitty Shower! It's not a kitten, actually. Her name is Zilla and my boyfriend had to give her away when he couldn't hide the cat from his grandmother anymore. His friend, Mina, took him in when she was living at home but now that she has moved out to a no-pet home and her brother is allergic the cats, her mother is forced to give Zilla away. Since then, we have moved out from our parent's dwelling, so we decided to take on a 3rd cat. She's about 4 years old and so very sweet. PLUS! She can play catch! A friend of mine thought of this idea of having a Kitty Shower to welcome our new feline friend (she is also a cat lover). We get Zilla next week and I figure a week or so for introduction (I know it will only be a couple days but just incase) and then have the shower. Here are my ideas: -Tuna Sandwiches cut out in the shape of a fish -Cat Litter Cake (someone had previously posted this on the forum awhile back) -Fish-shaped Cookies -Goldfish Crackers -Hello Kitty Shaped Cookies (my mom is making) -Treat bags for adults (cookies), kids (candy and what not), cats treats to bring home for those who have cats I don't expect my guests to bring a present for the cat, my sister already made a card and got a little cat toy for Zilla though, cute eh? I know there are some VERY CREATIVE ppl on this forum so I am open to ideas and suggestions! Angie Answer: What a cute idea! I have to say, though, that looking at the kitty litter cake makes me gag! I know the ingredients are good, but every year, someone here makes it for Halloween, and, well, ewwwwwwwwwwwwww! Answer: What a brill idea, make like I don't know, lol, a cake in the shape of a cat. Cool idea. Answer: You need something mousie...gotta think.... I also found cool recipes -Peanut Butter Mice http://christmas.allrecipes.com/az/PntBttrChristmsMic.asp -Chocolate Mice http://cookie.allrecipes.com/az/ChoclteMce.asp Angie Answer: Hee, hee, sounds like fun! ~~Des & Baby~~ Answer: One of the events we discussed doing for the shelter I volunteer for was a kitten shower. We didn't end up doing it because of other priorities. But the concept was: During kitten season, invite a bunch of people....have them bring kitten gifts as donations to the shelter. Give them some food (similar to what Jockette is doing), provide kitten education and have a bunch of kitten there for them to play with. Anyway....Jockette...I was thinking that maybe you could ask your friends to bring small kitten gifts that you donate to your local shelter.
