Help!! Kitten Bathroom Advice...

Question:
Hi everyone. I have a 13 week old kitten who is litter trained. The exception to this is that he continues to go in the corner in our living room. I have cleaned this area with simple solution right away when he has an accident. What can I do to change this behavior?
BTW, we have litter boxes all over where he can reach them. I have seen him use those litter boxes as well. This is a single level home.

Answer:
what about putting one of the litterboxes in the corner that it keeps using and then slowly move it to a place you'd rather have it?
Answer:
Whenever a cat suddenly starts "going" outside their litterbox when they haven't done it before it's really a good idea to get him checked out by your vet ASAP to rule out illnesses that could be the root cause of the problem, such as kidney problems, a urinary tract infection or crystals in the urine. At 13 weeks it's unlikely he could be having an issue with crystals, but you should make sure there's nothing medically wrong with him before too much time goes by. If it is an infection that's making him want to go a lot and causing him pain the "bathroom problems" often stop once the cat is well again.
If the vet gives him a clean bill of health, then try something like shel's suggestion or blocking his access to that spot to keep him from going back there again.
Answer:
Isn't a 13-week kitten due for his first series of vaccinations anyway? You could combine this with the other concern on a trip to the vet.

Answer:
I agree -- have him checked by the vet to rule out a UTI.
Also, be sure to clean the soiled areas with an enzyme-based cleaner such as Nature's Miracle. Otherwise, the smell will remain and he'll return to that spot.

Answer:
About 3-4 weeks after I got Kobi he started peeing in the corner behind the Christmas tree (that was a real joy!)...but it only happened once every few days and in between he used the box. I wasn't thinking UTI because he was still new to the house, figured maybe he didn't like the box or the location or the litter etc. Spent almost 2 weeks fooling around making changes, finally took him to the vet (he was due for shots anyway)....it was a UTI...
