Swollen Cats Feet?

Question:
Hi,
I’m new here so I hope this is in the right place.
I’m a bit worried about my cat. She is 2 years old and very healthy.
I noticed this morning that her back feet have grown to twice their normal size. She doesn’t seem to be in any pain and has been walking around as normal. She’s been sleeping most of the day but that’s because she decided to stay out all night. When she came in this morning she was all puffed up – I assume she does that for her own protection as there are a lot of cats around here – but then her coat relaxes so thought she looked bigger than usual but put it down to her coat being puffed - but her feet now look totally disproportionate.
I’m getting a bit worried for her, especially as I can’t take her to see a vet until Monday if I can get an appointment. I don’t want her to be in any pain.
Is this normal?

Sorry I've just realised that this is in the wrong place - can a moderator move me please!
thank you.
Answer:
I would guess that if you think something is wrong, it is. Can't seem to think of what may cause it, though if she is not limping or having trouble getting around, it may be a problem with the ankle area, like a human would have a swollen ankle.
All be it fairly acute, try calling around to different Vets in your area for any of them with an emergency number, and may be talking it out with one of them could best adress the situation and whether to wait till Monday or get some meds started today. I'm leaning in the direction of a possible infection, but am not qualified to give a proper diagnostic.

Doesn't sound normal to me. Have you been able to examine her feet? Maybe she stepped in some brambles or something...although you'd think she'd be walking gingerly or limping if that was the case. Anyway...a good look is needed (if you haven't already)...

Answer:
We have just been to the vets and she has been given some shots. its possibly an allergic reaction. we take her back in a few days to see her progress and go from there.
thanks for the advice.
