domestic medium hairs?

Question:
Does anyone have a picture of a DMH as a kitten. I've never had a kitten so young before. My hubby wanted a DSH because of his allergies but I think the shelter duped us and she's a DMH. It's not a big deal in my mind if she is since her hair doesn't seem too long.
Don't worry, I wouldn't send her back. She has stolen mine and my hubby's hearts. I'll just have to brush her more.
I just wanted to compare her picture. She's approx 9 weeks old now. Thanks!
Deirdre
Oh you can see her at

Hi,
Well i did manage to find some pictures of a domestic medium har cat. Here is the link to a page i found with them.

The good thing about the page is that there is medium and short hair cats, so you can compare the two. I did look at the pictures your cat and it does seem to be a short hair cat.

I can't tell perfectly from the pictures -- but sometimes it is hard to tell a medium haired cat from a short haired cat when they are so small. Some shorthaired cats look so fluffy but then they "grow into" their fur. And some medium haired cats' fur looks short when they are little but grows longer as they aged.
I looked at a pretty little black medium haired cat with a white star on her chest -- same markings as your kitten. Anyway -- she had pretty short hair on her body, but the hair on her tail was long, and she had little tufts coming out of her ears, and she had a bit of a ruff. Her kitten looked just like her -- but he had short hair I could tell he was going to grow into, and he did.
Anyway -- I wouldn't worry though -- allergies to cats aren't because of their hair, it's because of their skin. That's why people can be allergic to even Sphynx cats (the hairless cats).

Okay, I've never posted pictures before, hopefully these will come out all right...you wanted pictures of kittens, so here goes!
This shows my foster kittens when they were about 3 weeks old. The orange one at the top and the black and white at bottom left are both medium hair, the other two are short hair. The top two are my boys--they just turned 3! (I am a lousy foster mother, I keep too many!)
Shows my old dog Willy and 3 of my foster kittens. The one on the left turned out to be a medium hair.
It is hard to tell when they're really little, but short hairs are definitely short; the rest, you kinda get what you get!
