Question:
I need some help, please!
I'm trying to figure out what makes Riley's poo stink so badly!! It is the most awful smell! I have to be right behind him, scooping it out as soon as he messes, because it smells to high heaven.
He eats what the other cats eat (albeit 3x the amount ). I just can't figure out what is causing the odor.
Do any of you have an idea I may try or some thoughts as what the problem is?

He was on antibiotics wasn't he? That could be the source of the stink...when was his last dose?

I did wonder about that... but his last dose was last Sunday. We've had him for 12 days. And I guess he's had a shock to the system-- new food and lots of it , virus/antibiotics, wormer, treats--- maybe everything together has upset his tummy.
He certainly doesn't act sick and his poo isn't diarrhea but it smells like it.
I hope once he gets fully acclimated to his new environment, his innards will calm down! If not, I will probably have to start trying to figure out if there's allergies to something he's eating so we can eliminate it.

I think I would give it a few more weeks and see what's going on then. He's had a lot of changes and new stuff going on. It actually is a wonder that he doesn't have diarrhea.

Satan has the worst smelling poo...it literally makes me feel ill to my stomach if I smell a fresh "batch" lol. I walked in on him this morning as I was heading off to work...sat down to have a wee and the smell attacked my nose.
I dunno what causes it...im assuming the food he eats. It's called Katz-n-Flocken and it's made by Solid Gold. It's good for them but OHHHHH MY GOD! The end result makes your nose burn! lol

Star had really bad smell up the house poop. Made your eyes water. I've tried many foods, and the only ones that worked for her was Nutro and Blue.
Its the ingredient yucca root that helps control the smell. Blue has the highest amount of yucca I've seen.
I don't have smelly poop problems anymore.
