What's with all the abandoned dogs???
Question: I just went on petfinder, I haven't gone in about a month (I love to go see all the pretty pooches!!). Usually when I look in my area, there are about 100 dogs up for adoption, today there was a whopping 212 Why so many?? Is it just because the 1st of July is coming around??? Poor little pochie-poos Answer: Walk through the SPCA. They are packed to the gills and still a bit before moving day. Answer: I honestly think that it has something to do with all of the great Christmas gifts that people get. Someone thinks that they are smart and give someone else a puppy for Christmas. Well, 6 months down the road they find out that the cute little puppy gets to be really big and hyper and they get rid of it using some lame excuse. That is why I hate to see animals being given as gifts. Answer: Iknow here in Arizona they say it goes up in the summer cause people move and dont take there pets.. Answer: Moving day in Quebec is July 1. Many people move into new appartments that don't allow pets thus they are either abandoned or dropped off at shelters. It is a busy season for rescue groups. Answer: Yes here in Montreal its a heartbreaking time .. the rescues will be brimming as well.. as the SPCA's.. sadly.. Nutmeg Answer: Yup. Last year the SPCA got over 200 dogs in one weekend around July 1. People suck. :( Answer: OMG... that is so crazy... I dont understand why so many. (I guess I do but...) I'm of the mind that when you get a puppy/dog you take it like a child 12-15 years and it is a child. don't know how people can give up on thier babies makes me mad... He was found running at large in downtown Halifax with no id, collar, etc (and looked as though he been out for several days) four months later -- not house broken and poor manners. Guess the cute little 'lap dog' began to show his rough and tumble terrier side and became too much work. Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
