Kitten ate pieces of glass Xmas ornaments

Question:
I have a 6 month old kitten who has broken some Xmas ornaments. I ended up putting the tree away cuz he was destroying it. Well, he then found the balls in the garland on the stairwells. I cleaned them up and thought I'd gotten all the ones within his reach. My boyfriend tells me he figured out a way to climb the garland and got some more. After he broke them my almost 1 year old kitten has decided they are a tasty treat! I didn't believe my boyfriend when he told me, but discovered for myself last night when I heard her chomping on some pieces I hadn't noticed.

I am always so, so careful about the animals and things they can get in to. I never dreamed one of them would eat glass!!! It is the really, really thin type that you really couldn't cut yourself on but I'm sure it could hurt the intestines or coming out the backend. She seems absolutely fine and is eating like normal. Because I have 3 cats it's hard to tell who's going to the bathroom.

Anyone has experience with this? I am thinking of phoning the vet to see if I should have x-rays taken.

Answer:
I'd take her to the vet first thing in the morning. You might keep her apart from the other cats overnight, with her own litterbox, so if there's any problem, you'll see it right away.

Answer:
Ditto what Badger said. I'd at least call the vet and see what they recommend you do. Good luck, I hope your kitty is OK.

Answer:
Please have your cat seen by a vet immediately, eating glass can have serious repercussions.
